LED Grow Lights

Over the years I have tested multiple led grow lights. I have ran hps, mh, cfl as well as vertical setups before testing out leds and always had amazing results. I tested for one led company when they were launching and was able to see the pros and cons to using LED grow light setups. At one point I had 12+ led grow lights running and honestly was skeptical of them being able to produce what the more common 600 and 1000 watt hps grow lights could produce.

When growing with hps lighting, it is actually an overkill of light and the majority of the spectrum is not actually specific for growing marijuana. Due to the huge amount of wattage however, it is able to grow some amazing buds. With led’s the wattage is much lower but the spectrum is specific to growing quality meds.

The one thing I enjoyed about the l.e.d. grow lights was the amount of electricity that they used. I was able to run multiple setups under led using the same wattage as a single hps grow. This is perfect for any grower on a budget as well as those smart enough to run their grow on a solar panel powered setup.

Being able to grow using solar panels and a battery bank keeps a grower off the radar when it comes to electricity usage as well as allows one to setup ANYWHERE whether there is power in the building or not. During the summer months hps grow lights require additional cooling to keep the grow room temps down which adds additional electricity cost. LED grow lights can generate heat but nothing compared to an hps or mh grow setup.

Getting a led grow started however does indeed cost more compared to hps grows as far as the cost of the grow light itself goes. The cost itself is offset though due to using less electricity when it comes to the light wattage, ac’s and additional fans that an hps grow needs to survive.

In the end, I have grown quality cannabis, used less electricity and my overall grow room temps were far more easier to keep in check. Take a look at the many led grow light companies online and locate a decent light that will work for your setup.
